You come from The Land Down Under…

Music from the land down under… I think you’ve all heard this song before… 🙂

After hitch- hiking for over 1000 K’s, I reaaaaally didn’t feel like talking anymore. When I jumped into Garry’s truck, he asked me: “Do you like music?”

I answered: “I LOVe music!”

He switched on the radio, Full Blast and this song was on: Men @ Work- The land down under, Cliché! I know… But it still was a super nice moment, thats the moment where I finally realised: F***, I’m actually IN Australia!!! Ha Ha

Specially dedicated to my Lovely Road Buddy Nathalie, get in the mood love! Soon we are On the Road AGAIIIIIIIIIIIIIN in the land down under! ❤

YiiiiiiiiiiiiihaaaaaAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

After living on the road, for the past four years, I’ve seen and experienced the craziest things, which have led me to lose some of my boundaries, lets just say its hard for me to get shocked about anything these days… Add a broken heart on top of that and this year I felt lost like a tiny fish caught in never ending swell. That moment, in that truck, I remembered that in life:

Everything matters… Every moment… Every feeling… Every little detail of life, matters… You make it matter.

It made me think of a lovely poem I’d heard in the movie Invictus. A movie directed by Clint Eastwood, about Apartheid in South- Africa inspired by a true story about their Rugby Team. Starring in the movie are Morgan Freeman and Matt Damon. The poem is called Invictus by William Ernest Henley. Here is a short clip of the poem in the movie.

Invictus

Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the Pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds, and shall find, me unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll.
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.

William Ernest Henley
