The Whale shark migration path

 

The whale shark is a filter feeding shark, it is a slow- moving plankton eater. The largest viving fish, they can grow up to be 12m long. Its maximum age is around 70 years.

We can find the shark in tropical warm oceans, like the southern and eastern parts of South Africa; Gladden Spit in BelizeNingaloo Reef in Western AustraliaÚtila in HondurasDonsolPasacao and Batangas in the Philippines; as well off Isla Mujeres and Isla Holbox in Yucatan MexicoUjung Kulon National Park in IndonesiaNosy Be in Madagascar Off Tofo Reef near Inhambane in Mozambique, and the Tanzanian islands of MafiaPemba and Zanzibar.

The whale shark, despite its large tail fin, does not pose significant danger to humans. They can be quite gentle and play with divers.
