Quebec’s musicians, La bottine souriante

We danced around on this music during New Years Eve. I think it is cheerful and fun!

Rigadoons are basically the songs and dances originally from the province of Dauphine, in southeastern France. It passed in the province of Quebec, during time of colonization. Thereafter this music continued being played during religious festivals in the villages. The music is performed with traditional instruments such as wooden spoons, harmonica or violin.

Some of Quebec’s most famous musicians.
